We ordered fried calamari and received a plate with an assortment of random fried items. Not sure if this is normal but there wasn't much calamari. The fried items included shrimp, bell peppers, jalapeños, French fries, etc.
I hate to write bad reviews, but it's the truth, we had to wait TWO HOURS when we ordered the appetizer first we were thinking we will get it sooner but we got it after 45 mints and we had to call them twice .When we finally got our appetizer we oreder the main course and we had to wait one hour.food has no Taste and the service is horrible
We went there to celebrate daughter's birthday on Thursday, so it was not so busy that day, but we waited for our food about 40 minutes. Aa a result my daughter didn't receive her food on time, while our food was served already. When we asked the waitress why we have to wait, he told that he forgot about there order( we are disappointed and will not come here anymore
Thanks for making our lunch experience great Marlie and Kenny. Most of the restaurants were closed at the time we arrived, and we assumed Joe 's Crab Shack was closed as well until Marlie briskly walked up to us and greeted/welcomed us. Thanks for the recommendation to not back out of the mozzarella cheese sticks order. They were the best that I 've ever tasted-anywhere. Our food was delicious as well (salmon, crab-shrimp pasta, crab and cream cheese balls, and mozzarella cheese sticks). Since we were what seemed to be the first customer for the day, we received an appetizer card. It was used for one of our appetizers. The prices on the menu seem to be different from the prices online (i.e. fried crab and cream cheese balls $10.99 online and $11.99 in-store). The dollar does not make a huge difference. Since the appetizer card was for a 10.99 value, it may make a difference in what appetizers are purchased by customers if they don 't take the time to ask . Thanks for comping our crab and cream cheese balls. The team keeps the restaurant clean, and everyone seems to work well as a team and quickly (as a team) to pivot off of any situation. For example, I heard a patron at the table in front of us sharing that the patron did not eat meat. Though the team was not serving burgers at the time and many of the options on the menu had cooked meat, the team member quickly went to the back, consulted with the team, and came out with a veggie/beyond burger solution for the patron. This seemed very similar to the approach the team took with the appetizer card and the appetizers we order (consult with each other and work together for a resolution for the customer that fell within the parameters of the card). The team also consistently checked to see if we had enough water and if everything was tasting right. Sadly, we don 't have more Joe 's Crab Shacks in Houston and surrounding areas. I don 't feel you will be disappointed if you visit them when visiting Kemah and something is not up to your expectation, I believe Kenny, Marlie, and the team will have the best of intentions and efforts in making it right. Also, if you sit by the window, the view is beautiful (birds/pelicans?/boats, water, sky etc). Thank you for giving us a good holiday-break meal experience.
