Lake Tai Restaurant - Kelowna

This is a vegetarian/vegan restaurant with a menu of Chinese-style food. We are vegetarians but ate with a couple of youngsters (9 and 11) who did not know that the restaurant did not serve meat. When someone offered me one of the dishes, the 11-year old said "Uncle cannot eat that." We ate late afternoon on a Sunday and were the only customers in the the restaurant so we received fantastic service.

Lake Tai Restaurant is great if your are a vegetarian or vegan. Interesting menu with a lot of choices. The owners are adorable and really set a nice tone for the restaurant. The food itself, while good, was not enticing enough to rank it as a 'must come back'. In fact, the jasmine / flower tea and the service were the favourite parts of our meal.

Food and service is always amazing. Great menu selection. Yummy sweet and savory flavors. Have taken non-veg friends along and food was enjoyed by all.

As we work our way around the limited vegan/vegetarian restaurants in Kelowna, we found this place by accident. As it doesn't have a website it was hard to find a menu online, but we weren't disappointed. It's now one of our top three choices in Kelowna with the Gratitude Cafe and Naked Cafe rounding out the trio.We started with spring rolls and a delicious sweet/sour sauce. Oolong and herbal tea for beverages, then the dinner/lunch for two.There were ample vegetables (and pineapple), soy protein filling in for beef and maybe chicken - along with a variety of amazing sauces. Overall the food was excellent, and the basic cafe style decor was typical of non-vegetarian Asian restaurants.The server was friendly and prompt and was happy to explain how some of the dishes were prepared.As a bonus the pineapple donuts for dessert were a great end to an enjoyable meal.

My husband and I have eaten here twice. Both times we were completely satisfied with the food, service, tea and atmosphere. The food has lots of flavour and tastes like Chinese take out! Since we've recently started eating vegan this is an excellent place for us to enjoy a dinner out.
