Contribuiți la feedbackFor reservations, it is recommended to have your hotel concierge book ahead several weeks. The timing of the meal is quick, with the whole experience lasting about 15 minutes. It is recommended to eat the pieces of sushi as soon as they are placed in front of you, as the chef will adjust the pace based on how fast you eat. The waitress speaks English well and guides you through the different types of fish used in the dishes. Although Jiro still works hard, his son seems to be running the show and putting in a lot of work. Reviews of the restaurant are varied, but some facts remain true: it is near the subway, close to toilets, small in size, and not cheap. The meal is served quickly, with patrons expected to gobble up the 19 pieces promptly. The atmosphere is austere, allowing you to observe master artists at work. The dress code suggests avoiding heavy perfume or clothing that could disturb other guests. The focus is on enjoying and appreciating the hard work put into each dish. The star of the show is the food itself, with minimal interaction from the staff to ensure you have a seamless dining experience. Overall, the food was delicious and the experience unique, leaving it up to each individual to determine if it is worth the visit.
My first visit to Japan was a fantastic experience. Our hotel concierge made a reservation for us in advance and provided us with instructions and photos to easily find the restaurant. The courses featured the best fish available that day and the menu was a unique souvenir, as photos were not allowed. The various types of tuna were amazing and melted in the mouth. The tamago was the nicest I have ever had. For dessert, we were served a delicious melon that I couldn't get enough of. Overall, the sushi was very well prepared and authentic. The service was excellent, despite our limited Japanese.
The renowned sushi chef Jiro-san is no longer catering to customers. While occasionally he still prepares his masterpieces, his son now runs the sushi counter. The experience is vastly different from when Jiro-san was in charge. I may not visit again, but I am grateful to have been served by Jiro-san himself a few years ago.
Ignore all bad reviews about people who complain to the service, and the attitudes are terrible, it's all wrong. you eat at jiros for the experience of the championship of sushi. that is not a fun bar to share drinks and layers. read the website how to eat properly sushi, this shows them that they respect their craft and will be treated as a result. jiros son was so friendly and so surprised by our label he met us outside to get to know us. we shared a love too fast and he welcomed us at any time. to get a reservation is the easiest method to book at night in a luxury hotel in tokio, I have booked a night in the hilton as I have many points and diamond status, but it is not necessary. as soon as their reservation is made, email the concierge and state they would like to make reservations for at least 3 months out. now they can make these reservations only in the first month they want to eat. it cost me 27 dollars for the concierge to make these reservations personal, and it is not guaranteed, so I told them to book them in sukiyabashi roppongi as the back. show up early on their respects, show respect and enjoy the experience. the sushi! oh my, so much nuance and delicate aromas. sushi, which I had hundreds of times before, tasted quite different and unbelievable. the biggest surprise was the otopus, it reminded me of alaskan king crab, but more robust. 100% worth the experience. ikura, which was so subtle, without hint on fishy taste. Thank you for having my wife and I, we hope to visit again!
The place lived up to all the hype and my very high expectations. It’s an experience and the best sushi I’ve ever had, and I always seek out good quality sushi. Went for lunch and cannot wait to return. The price tag is high, but in my opinion totally worth it. It’s a short experience, but managing your expectations before coming will leave your taste buds wanting more. In terms of the amount of food I left feeling very full! You can’t take pictures inside by the way, so I respect their rules and only have pictures of the items you could take home after your visit. Next time in Tokyo will be heading there once or twice!
