My Wife and I came here for our 4th anniversary as we were staying at a nearby cottage. I had heard good things about the restaurant and watched the episode of "You gotta eat here" before coming. Everything we ordered was very good and didn't seem like it came from a box, it was all freshly prepared. Thew flavours were on point. The meals were huge though. I think they could make the portions smaller so that you could actually have an app and a main and not be stuffed. I had the bison burger which was waaaay to big and I only finished about 1/3 of it. we started with the haddock sliders and they were great but filling. They also charge extra for people to share a burger or sandwich which I did not like. They could make the portions a little bit smaller and then no need to share. The prices were not crazy either and the staff was very friendly. I would definitely go back and would love to try everything on their menu as the chef is doing a great job.

It was about 4 years ago I had my first dining pleasure at The Riverside, we now visit this wonderful restaurant regularity and we believe best restaurant in Kawartha Lakes ! We just had dinner there tonight, great service, wonderful atmosphere and awesome dinners, Certainly a 5 STAR !

On our first visit to The Riverside, we arrived at 1 on Sunday hoping for brunch. Alas, we were given the normal menu. But everything was uphill from there. The website shows a breakfast menu but none was evident that day. Plus they open at 11 every day.They offer quite a range of interesting dishes - far more than the usual pub fare. The fish and chips and shrimp p boy wrap were both very good. My fish was lightly battered and very moist - quite tasty. The chips were fresh, hot and crispy on the outside. The po boy was stuffed with nicely sautéed shrimp and other goodies.Servings are large. Neither of us could finish all we were given. The burger served at the next table was large indeed and really good looking.Service was prompt and friendly. They also have a good selection of beverages. Prices are very reasonable.The restaurant is small, but nicely decorated in dark wood paneling. Very warm and welcoming. There are several patio tables as well.
