Mambo Seafood - Katy

Start off by saying something positive, the rice is delicious. Besides that, most of the other negative reviews cover it. Dirty tables, slow service even when place is empty, etc.Look at this 'Shrimp '. It 's 95% batter.

Great rice. Good fried fish fillets. Small, overcooked fried shrimp. They call them jumbo or large, they are not. They are butterflied and severely over breaded. It didn't used to be this way. Disappointing.We waited to be greeted at our table for ten minutes. I finally got up and ask the hostess where our server was. I will say the young man who was our server was friendly and pleasant. Unfortunately, that didn't save the meal.

First time dining there.Jay was awesome and very pleasant. Loved their Chicken Rice. Definitely will go back.Parking: Plenty of free parking.

ADDED after the owner 's response : On the plus side, somebody actually read and responded to my review. On the negative side Really? You obviously put a template response (why would I go back after this experience? and to make this even worse you didn 't even read your own response, because you repeated every single word twice. It might look like a long response, but actually you just repeated the rehearsed statement again. Not really paying attention to this customer 's legitimate complaints and observations. Really lame.ORIGINAL REVIEW BELOW :Ordered shrimp fish plate. Both were undercooked the fish especially. Couldn 't get my waitress 's attention so I finally stopped another one. She sent a third person to take the plate back. Then a fourth person came to ask how everything was... After another long wait, my food was brought out on separate plates rice bowl ... I asked for lemons got limes....There was no kind of tarter sauce or red sauce for the fish or shrimp. I asked for both...got the red sauce. The salad was room temperature. I was there over an hour was really disappointed in the quality of the food and lack of service. Not the same Mambo 's I remembered from when they first opened . Paid the bill left I doubt I will go back. I do not recommend this place.
