Basil's Cafe - Katy

Excellent! This place was great! They wouldn't think it was at the outside and location, but the food was fantastic. We went for lunch, the comparison with the dinner menu was a steal. I am not sure why it is not listed as a Mediterranean in the description. It is French/Intercontinental and it was really good. I had the artichoke soup (axes) and we had chicken picatta and a pig brain special. both fantastic, but the chicken picatta was better. The dinner menu was probably twice the price of the lunch menu, but great variety and dishes that sound delicious! I can't wait to go back!

Recently there took a friend for dinner to celebrate her birthday. We were both so happy with what we ordered and really enjoyed our meal. The food was presented as always. I have the Shrimp Scampi and she has a fish fillet filled with crabs. We actually came a few minutes before they open at 5:00, and they came and unlocked the door for us. We also became a complementary birthday wedge of beautifully presented cheesecake.

I had one of the best meals of my life last week! My friend and I received so special attention. The service was impeccable and the food was even better. I was shocked how well the base tomato basil soup was my new favorite now, even over La Madeleine's. Steak was perfection along with all sides. And the cream Brulee was bomb!! The place looks a little uninviting from the outside, but it's really a jewel! Look at it.

I love the ambience of this place on a Friday night! The place is elegant, but also casual. I really enjoyed the simplicity of food that allows the flavors to come. My friend had the shrimps Thermidor and he found it delicious and it was good with rice. I had the grilled chicken filled with goat cheese spinach and vodka sauce. If delicious : the bread was also sooooo good and warm! My only negative comment is that this place has strange hours! I had to check three times before I could finally taste the food

Love this place....Excellent food!!! I have been there several times this year. Can’t wait to eat there again. Price is very reasonable. The rack of lamb was superb. Yum! Their fillet of sole special was the best I have ever had. A must try if you never been there.
