Great look and feel, straight out of the 60s. The food also out of the 60s in some respects. Decent size meals yes, fine dining no in terms of presentation. $10 per bottle very pricy for byo charge but overall a good experience in a different atmosphere.
Set in an old cinema, with funky decor and table settings that took me back to the 1960's, reminiscent of many family meals from my youth. A good range of really tasty food choices and drinks to go with it, highlighting local produce and wines, beers and cider. Staff were fun and friendly - a really pleasant meal if a little pricey ($100 for entrees, mains and a drink each). A great place for dinner if you're in Katoomba in the evening.
Seven of went for dinner on Saturday night and had a lovely evening. The food and service was good. The restaurant was packed but they were on top of it the whole time. We hadn't been for a couple of years as my favourite crumbed eggplant with mushroom sauce was taken off the menu and that was the one vegetarian dish on the menu. I had the polenta which was very tasty. Those who had the lamb said it was really good. The $10 corkage per bottle is a bit steep as the 'special' wine was $38 a bottle and was only average. We don't give a tip with the corkage is high, which is a shame because we like to recognise good service. We couldn't fit in dessert. We will go back again on a more regular basis, and would love it if they put the eggplant back on the menu.
This is a must either for hight tea on a weekend or a groovy friday night with music and dinner. The food is great and the place has heaps of ambience
