Trattoria Pippo - Kassel

Honest and simple italian (-like?) trattoria. Quiet atmosphere, kind service. Limited choice on menu and wine list, quite ok. Not too many meat dishes.

During a business visit I enjoyed a nice dinner.A good starter (Vitello Tonato), as a primo a spaghetti Aglio e Olio, which was the best I have had in a while. The secondo was a pizza (anchovies, garlic and olive oil) that was tasteful, however unfortunately topped with cheese and tomato sauce. Not the intention, but still fine.The dolce, a home made panna cotta was a delicious.The only thing I would comment on less positively is the wine list. Limited, although the wine of our choice, a Silician white was very attractive (grapefruit flavor, light bitter on the tongue).The price/quality of the meal and wine altogether is very good.I can certainly recommend this restaurant.

The Trattoria Pippo is a small Restaurant serving exquisite Italian Food with a stress on the cuisine of Sicily. The owner ("Pippo") himself is a marvelous creative cook. All Food is freshly prepared and very tasty. Try the fish, which is always fresh and always freshly cooked. Let the waiter recommend one of these great Italian or Siilian wines. On top of it the Service (often by Pippo himself or his wife) is always extremely friendly - really feels like eating at home.

Must make sure to book a table, even in the evenings of workdays, esp. during winter time when the Biergarten is closed for the freezing weather. A nice and cosy little inltalien restaurant, food normally won't dispoint you but the price may. Anyways, having seafood...(e.g. pawns and fisches) is generally quite pricy here in central Germany. The appetizer for was a surprise, especially the spicy level of the sausage saurce, we just doubt how many locals can endure it

Adults and children! The small menu is great, less analysis paralysis so we asked for carpaccio, papardelle, macaroni and a pizza. Spicy, tasty but plentiful. Especially the deserts. The biggest tiramisu and panna cotta I've seen in a while. Recommend!!!
