Malý Buddha is a teahouse run by a Buddhist who lived for a couple years in a Shaolin monastery. You can have your choice of several dozens of teas to go with delicious spring rolls and noodle dishes. Although a teahouse and not a full service restaurant, you will not leave hungry. The laid-back owner offers generous servings of vegetarian specialties, fish, shark steaks and vegetable and mixed stir fry dishes. The menu is a mix of Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese dishes. The drink menu is unusual, listing herbal drinks, ginseng wine, Chinese rose liqueur, and unknown shots of exotic intoxicating mixtures. The deserts do not last for long. The teahouse is a no-smoking establishment which is uncommon in Prague, thus the hints of delicious food are untainted; and if you like the decorations, you can buy much of what you see. You may be surprised to find the prices are reasonable. Malý Buddha is a perfect place to stop when exploring Prague Castle and its neighborhood. Over all, Malý Buddha is a good place to enjoy your afternoon time. Selamat Makan!
I think the place is quite unique in Hradčany area for its atmosphere, great food and acceptable prices! Loved the place, its tea offer and Vietnamese coffee! The food was excellent, quite a big portion, so delicious spring rolls as a starter were too much : Divoke sny and glass noodles...
Very untraditional restaurant, first thing you will notice is that there is almost no light, only candles lit around and as you are seated few candles are put on your table too. Interesting is that even in the kitchen and bar there is only candle light, which makes this weird in the beginning but you gladly get used to it and is seems to give this warmth in the restaurant. Very mellow music in the background and because of the acoustic you can hear talks from almost any table, but you soon realize no one cares and once you kinda lot go and you focus only on your table it is absolutely fine. I think this is one of the points here too, that you need to detach and enjoy your moment with whoever you have chosen to spend it. Very positive atmosphere. The service is superb, and we are not talking about 5* Michelin but they are there enough to serve you and help with anything you need and they won't bug you too often to the table, they smile and they are very polite, speak several languages and would gladly make exceptions for you if you want to change anything. Talking about food, there is so much to choose from, really, anyone can find a dish here. Vegan and vegetarian, sea food etc. Very good soups, very interesting taste in the shrimp soup and decent Pho. The noodles and main dishes are actually very decent and very good ice cream. Considering the location, the prices are really down to earth. Your visit will be unique and worth while here I can bet on it. Enjoy
Nebudete litovat. Snad jen malé upozornění na závěr, bez rezervace máte malou šanci, že najdete místo. Dobrou chut.
Vynikající restaurace, pochutnali jsme si na čaji i na výborných pokrmech. Jako milovníci Asijské kuchyně doporučujeme krevetovou polévku (zatím nej, kterou jsme kdy jedli a specialitu Malý budha. Čaje jsou velmi chutné s bohatým výběrem. Prostředí dokonalé, romantické, relaxační krásně si zde odpočinete a přenesete se do jiné země. Ceny jsou odpovídající. Naše nové oblíbené místo, určitě navštivte :
