Bohlerstern Restaurant - Kapfenberg

Even we could not take the dinner here because it was closed, we took lunch in this restaurant. the portions are well designed, the food quality is also very good. the service was quite ok for a hotel restaurant. all tighter a pleasant experience!

Unexpectedly we had to skip a planned event and dinner for work. the staff helped us get a small room to work and was polite enough to bring menus so we order before the kitchen was to close the food...was superb as the service. our waitress was exceptionally pleasant and friendly, I wish I knew her name. the boehler red wine was excellent. based on the service I would recommend this location very much. the great food was a bonus.

This review does not refer to the hotel “Bohlerstern” as a whole, but only to its restaurant where hotel guests and all other customers are served. we had dinner there on a week night. most tables remained empty during the visit. we sat. in the main kitchen furnished with taste in a style that is both rustic and classic, without looking old-fashioned. the service fits the furniture and can also be called classic. thick cloth serviettes and huge underplates as well as very large, elegantly designed menus made this superior impression complete. this restaurant offers international cuisine with strong focus on Austrian and especially Styrian dishes. after order we were served with a basket brot together with a creamy spread and a little later we received an amuse gaule consisting of small pieces vegetables in apic. so “Bohlerstern” seems to be ambitious and obviously strives for a first-class restaurant. However, neither the appetizer nor the main courses that arrived after a very reasonable delay were convincing. they were not badly definitiv, but it lacked taste and did not justify their high prices at all. all in all, “Bohlerstern” is a good restaurant, but with regard to its culinary performance it is clearly overpriced. this is a pity as we really enjoy the great atmosphere and the excellent service it offers and has spent a beautiful evening there.
