Contribuiți la feedbackHad a very nice meal with the steak I had in Taiwan. Very professional and well-trained staff makes this restaurant clear, beyond the food. Very recommended.
Very impressive experience, Sharon served us with professional and touched introduction for every single dish. Thanks for Chef Yuki to make us have a tremendous dinner here! Highly recommended!
Meticulous and precise in execution, this gastronomical treat is not to be missed of you are here in Kaohsiung, Taiwan! This is the Taiwanese branch of the famous, Michelin starred Ukai Group, the only teppanyaki restaurant to receive such recognition. From the grand entrance at the lobby where you are greeted by their staff, to the elegant elevators, to the lavishly decorated dining area, everything is carefully arranged to ensure an out of this world experience. The food, naturally, is top quality with ingredients sources globally, including bamboo shoots from Holland and olive oil from Italy, etc. The sirloin and tenderloin Kobe beef were out of this world. Perfectly done. Lobster soup was just brilliant. Presentation was elegant and lavish. The appetizers were all very special in their own way. Towards the end, a very simple fried rice (using special Japanese rice) with nothing else added other than a little bit of soy sauce, little bit of garlic, and the white rice turns into a smoky, sticky, ever so tasty bowl of fried rice strangely probably the best part of this amazing meal. Yes, a plain bowl of fried white rice. It's that good. Earl Grey cake and tiramisu at their dessert/afternoon tea area to finish off this fabulous experience. 10 stars, highly recommended!
Review based on Ukai Kaiseki. NTD 4,800 per person menu. Additional NTD 1,000 gram for white truffle add on. First of all, the chef is friendly nice. It's undeniable that the chef's skill is good. However there's few points to be considered. The environment, the vibe, the service even the background music are not what we expect in a kaiseki restaurant. The tableware cutlery is not exquisite and quality enough for the kaiseki. To me, one of the elements of kaiseki is to present it with care, nonetheless I didn’t experience during the visit. Monkfish is grilled to perfection and the liver is surprisingly delicious. Kuroge Wagyu is tasty too. All ingredients are fresh and well prepared but to me, using the same ingredient in different dish is not the perfect arrangement for kaiseki. As for the last dish, white rice with tuna sashimi, whitebait, mentaiko .. really? ..
What an eating adventure and extravaganza! Our creative and experienced chefs made each of the seven courses delicious and the presentations beautiful! The restaurant is found in the Silks Club hotel. You will also love the excellent service!
