El Gallo Mexican Food 1 - Kansas City

I have traveled in Mexico about 15 times. I frequently dine at El Gallo because their fresh and flavorful food tastes just like the wonderful Mexican cuisine I have eaten while visiting Mexico.Vegetarian options: El Gallo offers meals involving no meat, which are flavorful and nutritious.Kid-friendliness: They have booster seats for children.Parking: There are about a 20 parking spots in their parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: There are no stairs to their front door, or to their restroom.Dietary restrictions: All their dishes list the ingredients used in their preparation, and cooking.

Great food, always well seasoned, fresh, I believe the corn tortillas are actually homemade which sets this place miles apart from its competitors in this area. Restaurant is always clean typically not crowded. Food is always made fresh to order wait is typically 5-10 mins from my experience. The employees are always welcoming and nice. My only complaint is I feel they could put a little more in the taco for the price but overall great place to try if your on this side of town. My family and I will likely frequent this place

Edited review New owners food is not the same would never go backNice real simple Mexican food, but everything was amazing, definitely going to be going back here soon. They make absolutely everything from scratch. My wife got street tacos and tamales.

So, I used to like this place a lot. Last time i went. I was with my ex. We paid separately and the girl did not want to give me my own chips and salsa. I had to ask. Then she charged me for them and gave them to me with my food. I had to ask for the guacamole that came with my meal that was supposed to only be 9 dollars. I was charged 14. Then she argued with me about three guacamole and even after I showed her the menu which clearly shows it. She rolled her eyes gave me a tiny scoop. And said I could have it for free. I won't be going back.

I used to go to this place all the time. For a long time this was the best Mexican restaurant and reminded of méxico every time i’d go. Last time i went I ordered tacos of chicken and it was very bland and dry. Didn’t add sauce on the meat like they use too. The tortillas were dry as well. They used to have weekly deals but no longer have it. Everything is a little overpriced for the quality.
