The size was great, and it had a delicious, crisp flavor. It was absolutely perfect! The service was also quick and friendly. I'll definitely be returning!
The food was disappointing this time. I specifically asked for salt and ketchup, but I didn't receive either. It seems like they used the strongest onions imaginable. You would think that if the restaurant was busy, the quality of the food would be a bit better. However, even though it was packed, my food was barely served warm, as if the car hops were trying to rush and serve everything at once.
I had a great experience at this restaurant. It's rare to find places like this. Just a heads-up: be careful, as a 'burger' and 'hamburger' are listed as two different items on the menu. The food quality is excellent, and the prices are reasonable.
I was so often in 42 years at What-A-Burger that I visit it as one of the top dining sites while in Kannapolis, NC. It has a 50's-60's ride through the feeling of the scene. Your servers go to your car or you can dive in. You have some local and neighboring places and you will not find any other locations. They have unique drinks and some of the dishes. One of the first fast foods in town.
There are a chain of this burger spots throughout Kannapolis and Concord. It reminds you of an old school burger shop where you drive up to a speaker box and simply order you food. While they do have seating inside, I truly recommend living in the past and eating in your vehicle. The food was simply and a little pricey for what you get. I would recommend Bebos for good burgers (the food is made to order so you will have to wait a little longer).
