Riding the elevator up to the top of the iron bridge, you truly feel the height. What is surprising is that this was an amazing feat accomplished over 100 years ago in the Meiji era, and it still retains its shape to this day.
The information about the Yubekyou Bridge is quite extensive. Some visitors may spend up to three hours here to fully enjoy it. There are constant videos playing about the history, accidents, and architectural techniques related to the bridge, with a variety of footage from the first generation to the second generation. Visitors can also see a lot of reading materials such as accident photos taken by local residents and documents from meetings about preserving the first generation bridge. The sky station attached to the bridge makes it easy to see the railway tracks, and information about the estimated times of passage for express trains and cruise trains is provided, making it enjoyable even without detailed research. There is a train schedule for trains that turn back immediately after crossing the Yubekyou Bridge, so if you have time, it may be possible to take a ride.
Next to the Michi no Eki, there is the Yobe Station. Taking the free elevator up to Yobe Station, you will be impressed by its height. It is not recommended for those who are afraid of heights. It seems that the incident is not being talked about in a big way.
