Food Lounge - Kalpatta

We were originally seeking out a restaurant called '1980', but unfortunately it was closed for Eid. However, we stumbled upon this one instead and have no regrets. It is a new restaurant with great food and excellent service, though they do not serve beer.

A highly recommended spot to visit after returning from Pookade Lake in Wayanad. We ordered the "Food Lounge Non Veg Special Lunch" for Rs. 160, which was well worth the price. The meal included fish curry, dry vegetable, chutney, 4 pieces of delicious chicken 65, spicy buttermilk, curd, payasam for dessert, two chapatis, and a bowl of special Kerala rice. As a Goan who has tried many fish curries, I can confidently say that Food Lounge's curry and chicken 65 were outstanding. The restaurant has a tastefully decorated interior, excellent service, and amazing flavors. This dining experience was truly worth it, and I couldn't resist sharing one of the best lunches I've had in Wayanad!

Awesome place and good hospitality. Staffs are very cooperative. Very easy to enter from Highway. Foods are yummy. I love to visit here again with my family. Had a nice time with family.

After waiting for 10 minutes, I was given a one-page menu card (the rest of it was torn). Later, the waiter replaced the menu card and disappeared into the kitchen for another 15 minutes, even though there were only 2 other occupied tables. The food was bland and the rotis were as hard as cardboard. The kadai paneer was watery and lacked flavor, with only chunks of capsicum and onion thrown in. I later ordered plain white rice, which took 20 minutes to arrive. The staff was unhelpful and when I didn't leave a tip, the waiter became upset and started speaking angrily in his native language.

Spotted this place on the way. Looks very neat. Limited car parking and good support staff. Bit crowded and order taking and delivery of food were bit slow. But it was tasting better and really liked the food. Fish was unlike in typical mallu style but adapted to suit all.Ambience and service were good. Service was also very good. Sightly expensive, but mostly ordered fish related.
