Golden Delight Bakery - Kalona

This is an incredible place! All the pastries are delicious, and everything is very affordable. Just remember to bring cash, as they only accept that for payment!

This hidden gem is situated near an Amish community and is my go-to stop whenever I visit Iowa. The pecan rolls and cinnamon buns are absolutely DELICIOUS! I also picked up some fresh eggs and a variety of tasty baked goods. The cozy shop features a nice selection of gifts as well. There are a few tables where customers can enjoy a quick break, and they offer free coffee and tea for everyone. I adore this place and strongly recommend arriving early on Saturdays to snag a pecan roll or cinnamon bun, as they tend to sell out quickly. It's lovely to see the beautiful horse and buggies sharing the roads, adding to the area's picturesque charm. This is a great little spot!

Their donuts are so light and fluffy. It was like eating a cloud. My husband bought a loaf of cheesy garlic bread. He and the kids ate the entire loaf before we got out of Kalona. We were there as part of a homeschool field trip. The owners gave us a tour of the bakery. It was really neat to see how they do everything. Everyone was very nice. My husband and step dad have been pestering me to go back to get more bread and pies for them. We will definitely be going back. It's worth the hour drive.

I enjoyed very much this store. Great deli bakery products, great variety of pickles, cinnamon rolls are delicious. I advise people to visit and buy homemade made stuff from this place.
