Kanpai Japanese Sushi Grill

Amazing find for sushi for an East Coast native while on vacation. We tried the chicken and pork ramen soup and also a variety of sushi rolls. The deep fried california rolls and blue crab rolls were to die for!

My credit card was charged twice. This first payment was the food that I took with me the second payment of $157 and when I went back to the restaurant to complain, none of the staff members were helpful and the other guy was very rude when I was complaining and to my surprise, I’m not the only person in these reviews complaining about a card that was charged twice. Something has to be done with this restaurant.

Highly recommend their party beautiful arranged trays. It was fun delicious assembling our our suchi rolls.Have also gone many times to enjoy their delicious pork ramen soups poke. Soooooooo comforting. The food is always a delicious treat. Best sushi near LAX- that's for sure. The staff is always professional friendly.

Everything tasted good, just VERY expensive. Thats all. But...it IS Los Angeles.

Service was friendly enough, restaurant is cute and clean, so now we got the positives out of the way. The menu is really really large, which I personally dislike, and the food is RIDICULOUSLY expensive. Now I don’t mean expensive is bad, but for what we got and for how just OK it was- the price is not worth it. The rice was too soft, not really flavorful and didn’t hold together, the filling was bland, and it was all just fine. There was a huge hunk of tuna sitting on top of the sushi bar at room temp, not covered or wrapped in plastic for at least 30 mins, and then I saw them put it behind the bar for later use. We won’t be back.
