Love Black Bear diners!! Best Chicken Fried Steak anywhere! Gravy is old- fashioned goodness. My husband says the Fish and Chips are the best he's ever eaten even better than the fish places we go to that charge almost twice the price. Steak and eggsare great too. Better than at some name restaurants. Salads are crisp and dressing tastes homemade. Fun atmosphere too.Generous portions.

Easy to find (right off the blvd) Plenty of parking and even on a Sunday late morning (brunch) was able to be seated right away. Manny our server was friendly and attentive. Meal was awesome. FRESH squeezed OJ w Chicken Fried Steak n gravy. Biscuits thesize of my head ensured I was satisfied and staggering out the door. Definitely will be back.

We had an unexpectedly wonderful dining experience! Our group ordered the Fresh Berry Chicken Salad, Sweet Cream Pancakes topped with fresh strawberries and lemon cream, and a turkey club with a side of clam chowder. Everything was delicious! The salad and fruit were incredibly fresh, and the portion sizes were generous—you definitely won't leave hungry! The only suggestion I have is to add nacho cheese for the fries.

I had a more enjoyable experience at the Black Bear Diner in Hanford, California. The Oreo malt I ordered was delicious. When I visited this diner again in Hanford, I got the same malt. They creatively placed a quarter of an Oreo cookie on the rim of the cup with whipped cream and crumbled the rest on top. However, the restaurant used quite a bit of BBQ sauce and mayonnaise on my dish, and they overdid it with the chopped red onions and fries. I found it difficult to eat with the onions piled on top, so I ended up removing them to enjoy my meal. On the bright side, the burger patty was quite satisfying! It was juicy without being overly messy.

The food was fantastic! The diner has a wonderfully cozy atmosphere, and the staff was incredibly polite and friendly. Our waitress, Irma, was outstanding—funny and genuinely kind. She made an excellent recommendation that has become my new favorite! I can’t wait to return and eat there again soon!
