Kalamazoo Beer Exchange

Fun beer and barbecue with a unique spin on beer prices. Every 15 minutes the beer exchange (think the stock exchange) updates each beer price based on how much it is or is not bought. Occasionally the market crashes and all beers fall in price. There are 2 floors, the lower is a bar with an arcade and pool tables. The upper floor is mainly for dinner, but also has a bar. I have the Juicy Lucy Burger and Pommes and loved both. Definitely one of the best burgers I had and highly recommended.

Good place to hang out with friends. The beer price is a fun thing. Has two pool tables, good for a group of friends. Food takes a lot of time to arrive.

I was really excited to check the beer exchange and I didn't meet my expectations, but I would go back. First, the website has minimal information to plan a visit. The hours on the website, Google and Facebook were all different. You have a sign in front of the front door that opens for bar, kitchen and when the market opens* At the entrance you will either be brought up to the restaurant with standing height tables, outside with bar height terrace tables, or down to long bar and bar height tables. So the interior is best for families with young children, but it also has the least decoration for a stock market. The food was average. I'd say we enjoyed the cheeses most. The nachos were overwhelming when the chips we made from fried Wanton and there were very little meat added. Beer options were great. And when the *market finally opened at 6 pm, they arranged a bell (only inside) then turned TVs to show the changes in the price that happen every 15 minutes. Servers change the beer menu on the table to hide the start prices. Although they were cocktails good, beware of pricing. Ordered an old fashion and they charged us $21 for a cocktail. I wondered if that was right and I was told because it was done with Button Creek. Service was good! I would go out with friends again as an evening, but not recommended for families.

Fun place based on the stock market. Occasionally it crashes and beers go on sale. Prices randomly change as people order more or less of certain ones. Great, unique concept. Excellent food. If ever back in the area, will definitely return!
