Ristorante Medici - Kaiserslautern

I heard great comments concerning Medici's so my wife, daughter (age 18) and I ate dinner on a Friday night in January. I believe the date was 27 January. I had an anti-pasta dish. My wife had a pizza and my daughter had a pasta dish. We arrived about 1700 hrs before the evening crowd rushed in about 1800 hrs. I was disappointed. My wife's pizza was soggy in the middle, which is pretty tough to do considering she ordered a thin-crust pizza. My daughter's pasta dish was undercooked. I tried the dish and the pasta was hard, not tender. My anti-pasta dish was ok. The artichokes were delicious and the other fish items to include octopus and various shell dishes was tasty and actually quite enjoyable. The service was average, nothing special. I was disappointed because I had heard such great comments about Medici's. I will go again because I am positive I caught them on a bad night, which can happen to anyone. Total price was E62 Euros including non-alcoholic beverages. I tipped only E3, since the food was sub par. Overall price is reasonable if the food is average. I must reiterate that I am sure I caught them in a slump due to everyone to include my own son raving about this establishment. I have to call it as I see it...

Klassischer Italiener in der Kaiserslauterer Innenstadt - die Lage ist top: man kann zu Fuß in der Altstadt gemütlich hier her schlendern.Die gebotene Speiseauswahl ist klassisch und reicht von den üblichen Pizza- und Pastagerichten bis hin zu einigen Fleisch- und Salatvariationen. Auch für Vegetarier eird ausreichend Abwechslung geboten. Die Qualität ist ebenfalls gut bis sehr gut: die Speisen sind optisch nett angerichtet und können geschmacklich überzeugen. Insbesondere die Pizzen sind wirklich gut, allerdings viel zu klein - die mittlere Größe ginge in anderen Restaurants als Kinderportion durch.Der Service ist ebenfalls nett und stets aufmerksam, das Interieur ist einfach, aber zum Wohlfühlen absolut ausreichend.

Great Italian restaurant with decent prices. We had a three course dinner with classic starters, nice pizza as main dish and a fabulous tiramisu as dessert. Together with the drinks we still only spent 20euro per person. Good value for money.

Wir gehen seit Jahren ins Medici und erfreuen uns an der sehr guten italienischen Küche. Auch der Wein ist in Ordnung, man könnte evtl. über die Temperatur nachdenken. Bereits nach kurzer Zeit wurden wir von den Eigentümern wie Stammgäste behandelt. Überhaupt kenne ich wenige Wirte, die soviel Herzlichkeit ausstrahlen. Ich empfehle das Medici regelmäßig bedenkenlos weiter und habe nur positive Rückmeldungen erhalten.

I had a delicious meal in this place last week! great pizza and great noquis! good prices! I will come back!
