Swami's Dosa Grill - Kailua-Kona

The menu was straightforward and made ordering easy. We shared two ghee dosas, vegetable biryani, and curd rice. While the prices were slightly higher considering the size of the dosas, we expected that in Hawaii. I noticed many people ordering dosas, which made them quite popular. As for the food itself, it definitely deserves a five-star rating, and the vegetable biryani had a unique flavor. The sambar and chutney were both well-prepared, and the curd rice was the highlight of our meal. Overall, I highly recommend this place; it’s worth a visit and you won’t be disappointed.

The Sambar here is undeniably the best in the entire country! Moreover, every other dish on the menu is truly outstanding. The Dosas, especially combined with the Sambar Porial, are sure to delight your taste buds.

On another occasion, we stopped by during lunch hours and finally got to try the food. The Southern Indian cuisine was very authentic, and I was thrilled to finally get my Dosa. It was delicious, but the only downside was that it was quite pricey.

Chris is an amazing chef. I am an Indian and I have been looking for someone who can actually make a crispy dosa. I have been to countless Indian restaurants that can't make crispy Dosas. Finally, I found Dosa Grill. When I asked Chris to make the Dosa crispy, I wasn't expecting much. Boy, was I wrong and blown away. Chris is a Mexican who has learned how to make Dosas. I traveled all over looking for an Indian chef to make the perfect dosa and ended up finding a Mexican chef who did it where no Indian chef succeeded. Thank you Chris, can't wait to come back again for the crispy dosa.

If you are in Kona and missing desi food. This is your best option. It's in the food court and doesn't look promising but the food is good. I would go when I am in Kona again. It was very reaonabally priced as well.
