Kona Korean Bbq - Kailua-Kona

This restaurant is often fully booked, although they have a few tables both inside and outside. It may not look like much from the outside, but the food was excellent. It can be a bit challenging to locate as it is situated in an industrial complex, with a sign that is easy to miss from the road. Make sure to have your GPS handy if you are visiting for the first time! We tried the combo plate, which was outstanding and offered a great variety of their best dishes. They do not serve alcohol, but they allow BYOB for outdoor dining (the liquor store next door is a convenient option). The portions were generous and we all struggled to finish our meals, despite being hungry and eager to eat. The staff was friendly, the service was quick, and the prices were reasonable. I love coming here. I always command the same. kimchi suppe! it is surprisingly authentic, despite some of the negative reviews below. the boggi is also delicious. as it is cooked, reminds me of satay! meat on spits that were cooked over fire, they find them in Southeast Asia. yum, I've been here regularly since every week.

I visited this restaurant today at 7:00 PM and I have to say that this place is really good. Even though the decor may not be impressive, it's worth a try. The prices are affordable and the portions are generous. As Korean Americans who have eaten at many Korean restaurants in California, we found the quality here to be decent. The owner is also wonderful and very friendly. I recommend giving this restaurant a try. The seafood soft tofu soup is delicious and full of flavor. Some dishes come with kimchi, which I must say tastes just like the kimchi in California. Attached are some photos of our meal. We will definitely return when we visit Kona again.

I had the mixing plate. everything was delicious. this place has been under new property for 2 months, so some of the older menu items of the company are not available while they are fine tuned what the new owners decide what to offer. but the large back-lit menu above the register has all currently available dishes. the new owners are very friendly and happy to chat, they should have a moment away from the prep work and cook.

Very friendly and fast service! Food is also great! My favorites are Korean BBQ chicken wings, Seafood Tofu Soup, and BimBimBop!
