Island Roots - Kailua-Kona

What a find! It is a small place on the side of the highway and sometimes they show on street food markets, but it is definitely worth hunting. To the good stuff: the food. The menu is short, but all options looked amazing. We had a group of us going together so we had to try the Kays Lilikoi and Spicy Volcano options with brown rice and seafood Slav. The shrimps were made so good, the tail and the bowl were still delicious! The seafood Slave and rice were also such a great counterpart to the spices in Spicy Volcano and the sweet butter in Kay's Lilikoi. The spicy volcano, only a lot of kick and heat, but not exaggerated, while the Kays Lilikoi was just so sweet and tender makes the shrimps just disappear! Definitely check their schedule on social media, but definitely make the trip / hunting for this food truck. It's not a can to miss!

I think I'm addicted to the Vulcan crimp. Seriously the best of all time! With rice or as a salad, it is worth it!!!

One of the best places to eat in the city. Just follow them and you won't be disappointed. The kimchi slaw rocks!

The fish salad was soooo good!! Nice big piece of fish on top the crisp salad. I loved every bite of it!
