Genki Sushi - Kailua-Kona

An interesting concept, it is nice that you can only order from one screen and have delivered it with a small train to your table. Beverages are very expensive compared to other restaurants and the dessert prices are somewhat high for what you get. All in all, food is good, but small portions. I would be a great place to take kids to keep them entertained while your food arrives

This place is great. Look at the plate stack. I always get the monthly specials. It's always fresh and so fast. It's fun to see the sushi shoot on a Lil plane. I like the choice here against other places in town. It's really a great place for the family. Small sizes so you don't just have to order a few things. Try it all!!!

The prices are reasonable, and placing an order is straightforward. The sushi is delivered on a cool conveyor belt system, which adds to the experience. Service is quick, and the menu is surprisingly extensive, offering something for everyone. While the sushi quality isn't top-tier, it offers great value for the price. Initially, it might be frustrating that you can only order four items at a time, but it actually makes sense; you can order as you eat, so there’s no need to overorder.

We had an incredible experience at this restaurant! My family and I arrived around 2:30 PM and were seated immediately. Some of the dishes took a bit longer than expected, but the portions were larger than those on the Hilo side. Unfortunately, we didn't get a picture of the hot dog, but it was a bit cold or only mildly warm, though it tasted fantastic. After our meal, we indulged in dessert, and the ice was absolutely delicious! Be sure to grab something when she sells out—it's definitely worth it. Our meal for three, including the tip, came to around $81.

However, we did encounter some issues with the service. After finishing our meal, we waited quite a while for someone to bring us the bill. After about 15 minutes, we decided to go to the register, but were sent back to our table and had to wait an additional five minutes to get our bill. They weren’t particularly busy, so the wait felt a bit excessive. Despite that, it was a good experience overall, and I would definitely consider returning.
