Donegal House - Kaikoura

A surperb place to stay with our motorhome and the food was excellent. I had the Pork belly that was presented beautifully but sadly in a large soup bowl. Terrible to eat out of. The prawns were excellent.. Will return.

I didn't stay over, but I stopped by for a drink, and what a beautiful spot it is! I met the new owner, and this place is enormous. There was a cozy fire going, and the grounds are absolutely stunning—ideal for a wedding or event. They have 29 rooms in various sizes, and the camper/caravan sites and facilities look fantastic. The place is clean, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. Both the restaurant and bar are well stocked and inviting. The owner mentioned that dogs are allowed outside. Overall, it's a lovely place!

I visited Donegal House in Kaikoura for an event and was thrilled to see the place buzzing again after a long break. Our large group had access to the function room, but I noticed the bar and dining areas were quite busy. The meals were amazing and beautifully presented, and the staff was enthusiastic and incredibly friendly. The gardens also looked fantastic. Thank you, James and Kate! I'll definitely be returning, and so will our group! Just a tip: be sure to make a reservation for dinner.

I dropped in for lunch and was impressed by the fantastic service and excellent food. The atmosphere was incredibly laid-back, featuring a charming pond-side park and the soothing sounds of birds in the background. The history of the location is proudly showcased, and it was enjoyable to read about.

I stayed in a campervan on a powered site to the rear of the property. Fantastic set up, stunning location and really clean facilities. I had both lunch and dinner at the pub and the food was good and service awesome. Would definitely recommend. At $20 a night for a powerd site, this was a real treat.
