If I were to compare this swap meet to the farmers' markets on Maui, this would be my least favorite. It could be the concrete setting and lower elevation, but I find it way too hot for my taste. There are breezy weeks, but when it’s calm, the heat is quite overwhelming. I imagine the temperature is more comfortable during the cooler months. I've noticed that prices are generally higher here compared to the Honolulu Stadium swap meet. I would recommend skipping this Maui swap meet and suggesting that people look elsewhere for a better variety of food gifts.
The entrance fee is $0.50, and parking is free, which was a pleasant surprise. They have a wide selection of handmade jewelry, but I was hoping to find more clothing options, as the choices were quite limited.
So I'm from the Caribbean which makes my rating a bit bias. I was born amongst tropical fruits, rainforest, positive vibes, and great weather yearly. With that said $7 dollars for a coconut is expensive. The empeñadas were priced the same so I was disappointed. The jams/jellies were the best bargain because every where else they were almost double what I paid. I went for the food so I did not get a price on clothes and souvenirs. With that said, practice Aloha because we all have a life to live.
Literally nothing to buy. You have to pay money to sweat in the heat. Cute souvenirs but all very marked up for what they are. They were selling wired wrapped rings for $10 a piece and you can make those in less than 1 min. Lack of food choices too. The only pastry I bought here I was gaslighted into buying probs bcuz no one else wants to buy it since it tastes like diabetes in a bite.
