Suzanne's Natural Foods - Joplin

I was pleased to find a wide selection of greens and unique items on the salad bar, such as purple sweet potatoes, Kalamata olives, and sauerkraut. The higher price reflects the luxurious offerings.

I made a pit stop at this restaurant while on a road trip in search of a meal that included vegetables. The salad bar had a great selection, including a delicious kale salad and fresh-cooked beans. The price for the salad bar was reasonable and I was able to get a salad and a bottled drink for less than $10. The ambiance of the place was reminiscent of a natural foods store, which was enjoyable. The staff and customers were very cautious about COVID-19 safety measures, which was a pleasant surprise in Missouri and middle America. I appreciated the respectful and kind atmosphere of the restaurant. If you've been surviving on bread and nuts for days and encountering anti-masker trump supporters everywhere, come here for a refreshing change.

This health food store has a small buffet in the back that offers a selection of healthy organic salad bar items, as well as rice, beans, roasted potatoes, and homemade whole grain bread. The hummus was particularly delicious. We were passing through and were delighted to find a spot for healthy eating while on the road. We will definitely come back again!

I had the salad bar for lunch and was quite happy with it. It was $6.99/ lb and is available 11am to 2pm, Mon Fri. Everyone was friendly. I will eat here again next time I come to Joplin.

Suzanne's is not my favorite store in Joplin. They do not always have an abundant amount of vegetarian/vegan foods. Tofurky deli slices always seem to be the peppered flavor--I like it but that kind gives me heartburn. They have limited Amy's items as well. The first time I was there I did not feel welcome. Also, some of the employees don't seem to know how to operate the computers very well. I prefer Fox Farm over Suzanne's.
