Sushi Ya - Joliet

Definitely the best sushi in the city! They've been around since I was a child, which is about 25-30 years ago. Long before sushi became popular in the Midwest, Sushi Ya was already there. Even before I learned to appreciate sushi during my time in the Navy, I had some fantastic experiences with sushi, and this place holds true to that quality. Everything is fresh and tastes incredible!

The sushi here is excellent, especially the Godzilla roll which features both rolled and hand-rolled styles. I always make it a point to stop by whenever I'm in Joliet.

I ordered the crazy salmon, spicy tuna hand roll, and two ikura salmon eggs, and it was phenomenal! The presentation was beautiful, and the taste was even better. The hostess was very sweet and helpful, and the owner was kind and humorous. Although they were quite busy, everything was served as ordered and I didn't have to wait long. Some people need to realize that good quality food requires patience; if you can't wait, then maybe McDonald's is a better option for you. I’ll definitely be returning!

That was an excellent experience. I called in my order, and it was exactly on time and everything was correct. the sushi rolls were fresh, generous and with the perfect ratio of fish to rice. the 3-roll lunch special for $11.95, which also contains the miserable soup or the salat with its house ingwer dressing, is an excellent price. there were many different rolls to choose from. I'll take with you more often!

Went at 6:30 on a Tuesday afternoon with a party of 5. Absolutely amazing. We all ordered different chefs specials and they were all done extremely well and tasted so good. They were all wonderfully presented on our plates and honestly it was just absolutely frickin fantastic and if you like sushi at all, I highly HIGHLY recommend Sushi Ya. Phenomenal.
