Contribuiți la feedbackThis is honestly the worse service I ever had. I don't know how they allow their staff to treat people like this. We came into the restaurant about 45 minutes until closing time. The host sat us. Our server came over to us and told us that the cooks did not feel like cooking so we had to order to go and leave. We called the manager. Jackie was so professional and very apologetic for her staff. She was not here at the time, but she drove to the restaurant to fix the situation. Server josh was also amazing. They will do great with a better team behind them. The lack of professionalism from everyone else was disgusting.. this place is lucky to have them. Hopefully with some better training this place will be a great. Right now, I do not recommend it!!!! Go to a different location.
When you sit down to eat here after ordering and before touching your food you are now supposed to ask for the check/bill now. So I came here for the first time this Sunday, was eager to check them out. I was told I could sit at the bar or sit at a table/booth only if I waited to be seated so I did just that and again I understood the wait since because of staff shortage everywhere it is expected. I waited patiently a good 20 min or so. Finally when I get sitted I explained it was our first time there and didn't know how to order other than knowing that I wanted a shrimp boil bag. I proceeded to tell the girl I wanted a the $30 because I wanted the snow crab, shrimp and lobster. She explained lobster was not an option on there we would have to order it separately because it cost more. I told her that was fine and understood and told her than we only one two items and we will pay the lobster separately. I asked if the bag came with corn, potato etc and she said we would have to pay for it separately so, I said okay and ordered noodles, corn and potato separately. When we go to pay she charged us for $30 meal each which contained double items (it should have been $20each). I'm not stupid, but we legitimately did not notice the amount of food in there aside from the three corns and 3 potatoes (which we paid for). My husband and I were just carrying on with our conversation to notice the extra shrimp in there and again also did not realize this until we got the check/bill. When I argued this they apparently couldn't do anything because we had eaten the food. We clearly had to-go bags on our table, so no we could not finish or eat all the food Any who, despite this event the food was NOT good. The potatoes and corn were over cooked and the seasoning was too sweet despite asking for their house seasoning medium, and their mango lemonade was very watered down. NEVER EVER GOING THERE AGAIN! even if they would had refunded me $20 from the $180 dollar check we got.
Cajun Boil Bar is a highly casual seafood restaurant, located in Louis Joliet Mall, close to I-55. That day, we were on the road and stopped at this restaurant for some light meal, which we decided to order as a take out, since we were short of time. Waiting for the order of an appetizer and a soup Crab Cakes and Sausage Gumbo gave us some time to look around. The place resembles a typical seaside restaurant, accordingly decorated; the ambiance is quite cheerful, informal and relaxing. The order didn't take that long to wait for, service was quite friendly and polite, and the food turned out to be good not exactly NOLA Cajun standards, but quite tasty, the portion of Crab Cakes had two patties, and a hefty bowl of Sausage Gumbo was also very good and not overly spicy. The total bill came to $22 (plus tax). The large menu offers a wide variety of seafood, and various drinks. Cajun Boil Bar also does weekly drink specials, advertised on the info boards of the restaurant. There are two large dining areas (one is outdoors), and a full bar in the restaurant. The tables were placed very distantly, sanitation was observed, according to the regulations for that time of the year. The onsite parking was easy. The restaurant must be quite busy on the weekends, and if one shops at the mall, Cajun Boil Bar could be one of the places to stop and have a meal, and a drink.
This rating is just for the service, or should I say lack of service. 4 couples at the bar and me. 3 tables of couples. 2 bartenders. I asked about a beer and the bartender went to check if the had it. He never left the bar area. After 15 minutes, it was time to move on.
Service was great. Food was ?great place to chill and eat.
