Back Door Cafe - Johnstown

Great atmosphere and friendly service. The menu never disappoints. Portions are right. Do not be afraid to try something new because it is always prepared with excellence. Great place to take my mother's birthday dinner. If you had no Back Door Café before, do yourself a favor and treat yourself.

We visited the Back Door Cafe last Thursday and enjoyed a wonderful evening. The food was absolutely wonderful. We had a party of five and each person enjoyed every duck served. The service was great and Denise gave our party answers to all our questions on the menu. All about the Back Doir Cafe was great. Plan to return many times. Thanks for this wonderful place.

I love it! Decor was very nice. The staff was attentive during an extremely busy night. Food was fantastic in quality and taste. That was our first visit. Can't wait to come back!

I was super surprised at how awesome this place was, from what my husband and his family had described for this area. The cocktails here were absolutely amazing and very inventive, and the bartender was super sweet and attentive. Will definitely go back next time we are in town!

I have had some decent dining intown, but almost always with the caveat that it was very good, ‘for Johnstown’. There are no conditions necessary for the food, atmosphere or service at the Backdoor Café. It can stand with the finest anywhere. We sampled the genuine Caesar salad, made classically with raw egg and anchovy, it was worth any danger. The mushroom soup was savory and flavorful and emphatically NOT a cream soup and the flatbread appetizer amazing. The Lobster ravioli was another case of letting the primary ingredient speak loudest in the dish. The tomato confit complimented and did not dominate the seafood flavor in the ravioli. The Lamb the Duck each perfectly prepared and delicious. Desserts were extraordinary, a magnificent turtle cheese cake and a berry Tiramisu were each special.
