Mona Lisa's Gelato Cafe - Johnson City

We ordered to take home and the flavors and quality of our selections are exquisite. First the New England Clam Chowder (made from scratch) has whole clams in it....totally awesome thick and flavorful. The Java Chicken Soup is healthy and has a bit of a kick full of black beans, chicken, corn, tomato. If you have never order soup at Mona Lisa's you must. And then enjoy the huge yeast roll that accompanies your soup the bread is made on site every day. We also ordered the banh mi pork sandwich this delicacy will transport you to another country spicy and flavorful and finger licking good. The Mona Turkey panini was another selection and it had interesting ingredients that made for a superb panini. The side salad was mixed greens and homemade balsamic dressing. And last, but not least, we took home a pint of gelato half forest berry, half cherry almond. We were happy with all of our selections. Lunch specials include a drink and a side...... Lucky to have this little restaurant in our backyard.

Not sure what the person who complained about not having 'their ' favorite Birthday gelato was smoking, but anytime I 'm craving a special flavor, I call first to see if it 's on the menu for that day. If not, all anyone has to do is ask and They will make sure it 's one the menu the very next day! Maybe this person doesn 't understand what ' made fresh daily ' means. I have Never once been disappointed with any flavor, even when my fav isn 't on the menu that day!!! As for the staff. They as well as the owners are fabulous and always go the extra mile. Everything is made with the freshest ingredients and from scratch. They even have freshly made bacon jam which I gave as Christmas presents to the men in my life. They even called me personally to let me know more was made when I bought all they had one day. Sorry to those who missed out but you snooze, you lose

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! This is where we go when it is time to treat ourselves to the BEST gelato around! Last week their selections included a peanut brittle gelato that perfectly captured the essence of that treat, a luscious 'Cinderella vanilla ' that had just a hint of pear, and one of my favorites, the blood orange sorbetto. Their pristine counter is always fully stocked with a large variety of freshly prepared and beautifully presented 'masterworks 'of gelato and sorbetto, and their staff is always patient and helpful as my daughter and I invariably ask for way too many samples before making our decisions. The staff is also knowledgable regarding the flavors because there is almost always someone on hand who was involved in making them. They also have fantastic soups and mouth watering sandwiches (that phrase came to mind as my mouth is actually watering thinking about their food. I have never had a disappointing meal there, and I always arrive with high expectations, so that is not easy to pull off, but Mona Lisa 's is consistently wonderful.

Mona Lisa's is one of my favorite restaurants in the Tri-Cities, TN area. Sheridan has a unique way of blending ingredients to create high-end delicious meals at affordable prices. From their home-grown organic herbs and vegetables to the imported Italian flavors for their gelato, you can rest assured that quality prevails. And if you've ever eaten one of their sour dough rolls, you'll probably (like me) never want to buy bread elsewhere. As for the gelato: there's nothing else like it in town! I love the pistachio, but love trying new flavors when that's not available. Better yet, if you want to be adventurous and try a new flavor, the staff are very accommodating and give you samples to ensure you make a choice that you like. I love the friendly and helpful staff and of course Sheridan and Steve are always a pleasure to see.

I love this place! The chicken bacon ranch penne is so good, that is has become my regular. Also all the salads are wonderful and the gelato is well. Highly recommend this place all the time to people!
