Hill Country Cupboard - Johnson City

The service was great. The food was meah. Very average. Their best dish supposedly is their chicken fried steak. It was chewy and lacked flavor. The mashed potatoes were instant potatoes and not good at all. The onion rings were good though. The chicken salad was ok, but very small. Overall for $45 we won’t be going back

We started our day with a great breakfast before our adventure in Johnson City. The chicken fried steak was so moist and delicious. I had just scrabble eggs, bacon, sausage, and crispy hash browns with wheat toast. So good the perfect breakfast for me. The baby had the kids' breakfast. we ordered his first, and it came right away very little. Wait, while we decided what we wanted. We will definitely be back and recommend this place for breakfast.

Nice last minute, stop in on our afternoon motorcycle ride. Great home-style country cookin '! I loved my chicken mushroom texas toasted sandwich!! Seated quickly, however, it took a bit of time 45 min to receive our order; as we then watched it, sit in the window for about 10 minutes prior to table delivery. Everyone looked SO bummed. .. the many intimates of the yellow green-like hickey 's all over the young waitresses ' neck.. well, those really weren 't necessarily needed to be shown either. But.. hell, I could sit there all damn day with their peach mimosas. I 'll definitely be back to try more menu items just when I 'm not in a time-crunch with prior engagements.

I picked this place out as a stop on a ride through the hill country. I got the standard biscuits and gravy plate and my partner got a chicken sandwich. We were waited on right away but the food took over 45 min to get to us. I watched it sit on the ready window for like 10 min. The staff was friendly enough but they didn't seem like they wanted to be there. The food was fresh but since it sat for a bit it wasn't hot. There was a snafu where one of the servers charged someone else's meal on my credit card but she did say that she was able to void it. I'll be watching my account to make sure. This is a place I would go back too but only if I'm not in a hurry.

Food has always been fresh and tasty. Always excellent. *The Best* chicken fried steak, sausage gravy, and biscuits around. We go out of our way just to eat here!
