Cafe Peanut - Jersey City

I came once by myself and the guy at the register was ignoring me when I tried to order and was also kinda rude when i finally ordered. He had a bad attitude when I was really polite and I’m used to coming there with my fiancé. However the older guy who works there (not sure if he’s the owner or manager) is very nice and welcoming. The place itself is super cute with a nice decor and good drinks, so it’s a shame that this employee is ruining the whole atmosphere. He honestly gave me a bitter after taste of the place. I just read the reviews before leaving mine and apparently there are a lot of complaints about him so maybe management needs to do something about it?

Terrible service here! The food takes forever to come out (I just had an avocado toast) even though it was empty, and the waiter was pretty rude. I'm writing this as I wait 20 minutes for a stupid avocado toast, so I don't know if the food is any good. But I won't be coming back if it takes them 20 min to make a stupid avocado toast. It's really expensive too for the service you get.

I really love this place ! They have different drinks and latte that we don't find anywhere else...

Would never eat here again!! The sttaff knew nothing about the menu when asked about the ingredients. I waited 15 mins for my food only to be told they where out of what I ordered and paid for. I was told I could have something else on the menu for the same price (everything was about the same price or cheaper. So I asked for a refund. The amount was incorrectly reimbursed. I was refunded only the amount of the sandwich and NOT the tax that was charged. The staff member at the register reacted clueless when I brought it to her attention. My fiancé 's chicken quesadilla was not heated all the way, dry and tasted old. She was super unhappy. This was a disappointing first impression of our visit to this cafe!

I was so excited for some fresh fruit I even saw the chef pull out a huge container of strawberries I assumed for me but….Two stars for the food because although it was good it was described as a Fruit parfait and it had only one fresh cut up strawberry and 3 blueberries!1 star for the service because after 10 minutes and clerk finally asked if I’m ready to order so I said yes ! She then just went along with making one drink for another customer that was heated from waiting already. But she never took my order until I said hey I’m ready to order! She said ok like I hadn’t been waiting lol so I placed my order “one fruit parfait to go please” 10 minutes later she asks where I’m sitting I said I’m getting it to go she then apologized and after another ten minutes I got a tiny cup cup. I paid a little over 10 dollars with tax for a tiny 1/4 cup yogurt, 1 strawberry 3 blueberries and mystery granola with nuts and dried fruit o had no idea what was in it oh and a dash of honey.Atmosphere was ok it is a newer establishment with generic boho cafe vibe decorations.Did I mention the place had no drip coffee? On the menu but not working or something so clerk did her sales pitch and suggested a americao which is a shot of espresso and hot water … if a establishment is out of a staple item like drip coffee then store should offer alternative at the same price but they wanted a dollar plus more for that with no reasoning. No don’t or almond milk either!I will never order anything from cafe peanut again
