Nice to see that even with the gimmickey old style serving system, the food is still fresh and good. There werent any workers out, but the one who was was extremely nice and helpful with any questions we had. Hope this place sticks around a while!
So I have to admit this place wasn't my first choice but given limited quick lunch options in the area I decided to give it a shot and boy was I surprised. Even with the vending machine like setup the food was definitely gourmet and worth every penny. Hope to try more things on the menu.
On a warm sunny friday afternoon recently, I decided to dine at the state of the art Automat Kitchen in Jersey City. It was a delightful experience to order food this way like they did a hundred years ago, minus the coin slots. I ordered the Signature Mac and Cheese, the Chicken Pot Pie, the Mediterranean Flatbread, and the Chocolate Cake. All the foods were freshly prepared and presented in the Automat box, and i even got to meet the cook Jose behind the box. I can't wait to go back to try more food. It brought back such nostalgia. Very easy to use and they had someone there to help just in case. My son loved the experience so we'll definitely be looking for more!
This is the first Automat establishment I've been to. There was a very nice informative employee who helped me with the process ordering. I ordered the Mac and cheese with beyond burger crumbles and a lemonade. It took a few minutes to order register with their email program. The order took about 20 minutes to prepare I was alerted once the order was ready via text. Then I was informed which door would open with my sealed bag order. The whole process is really cool the menu options are great too. Will return to try something else soon.
