The Woodsman Tavern - Jennings Lodge

Overall we had fun, but not the quality of the Woodsman from the past. Service was nice, and the ambiance is great but the food was underwhelming and overpriced. The bad stuff. Perhaps a hidden gem? Or maybe everyone already knows about this place. But I wandered in unassuming and was very happy with the experience. Great oysters and beer and a very friendly/relaxed/real environment.

Last time I had been was precovid. Disappointed this time around. Perhaps lots of changes in the kitchen. Service was at best mediocre by Diana. Appetizers were better than the entrees. The hostess and other servers seemed fantastic and attentive.

Came here with my family for happy hour. Restaurant has a high end feel but a relaxed atmosphere. The food was very good, but on the rich side. Complete bar with legit craft cocktails, nice beer selection, plus extensive and interesting wine selection. Not a great place to let your kids go nuts but surprisingly family friendly, even had a kids menu. Overall, I thought happy hour was a good value. I am agnostic on the mandatory 20% tip, but I thought they earned it.
