Portlander Inn Marketplace

Just to be clear: Yes, this is basically attached to a truck stop, but please don't let that be a reason to overlook this hotel. I never noticed any noise from it, even with a room window facing the pumps. The front-desk staff were incredibly friendly and on the ball. Even though we shuffled in well after midnight. The room was /very/ clean. I've stayed in 4 and 5 star hotels with rooms that weren't as clean as this one. I don't know what they're doing differently, maybe actually paying their staff a proper wage or something...but whatever it is, it's working! Room was recently renovated, beds were comfortable, TV was a good size, there was a fridge and microwave in our room... it worked out quite well for us. Having a 24 hour grocery store attached was certainly handy as well. The only thing I can say against it, is not something within the Portlander's control. It's a rather industrial area, as one might expect. There's not much around it. A car is definitely needed to get anywhere. However, you can get into Portland proper very easily on the 5 or 99E.

To be honest for my first time in a hotel it was amazing, I felt safe and the food was delicious hopefully next time I could explore more

The hotel was not that good as I thought it would be the elevator broke and I had a room on the 4th floor and my father who was with me was disabled so he had to walk up and down four flights of stairs so I highly recommend anybody that's disabled do not stay at this hotel it is not reliable for the disabled.

Excellent staff. Wonderful clean room. Great bed, cotton sheets. Complimentary sit down breakfast.

To be honest I was torn between 4 stars or 5 stars with a disclaimer. This place was fantastic in every single way except one: I could hear the person above us stomping around in the morning. If you bring earplugs, you'll be happy as a clam staying here. The staff is AWESOME and super friendly. Whoever was working the front desk around midnight this past Saturday is a gem. We asked for some toothpaste and he happily checked 4-5 areas to hunt some down for us. Our room was spotless- you can even see the perfect vacuum marks on the recliner chair. The room was also pretty updated looking. The free breakfast actually filled us up enough for a hike. The convenience of the laundromat, gas station, convenience store, MOVIE THEATER is super hard to beat. And I actually really liked the location. It ended up working out to be 11-15 minutes from every place that we wanted to go to. We'll definitely be staying here again.
