Le Bistro Montage Ala Cart

The manager Jordan of the carts is amazing !! This is a hidden gem and I’ve heard so many good reviews and raves about this cart. I go every week!! Jordan help solve a small issue right away and the smells are phenomenal!! If y’all go to this food cart shop must try and leave reviews!!

We were very excited for our weekly date night! Started off with standing in front of the cart (with no line) for 5+ minutes with no gretting hello or we will be right with you we finally had to ask if we could place a order. The cook was cold and said sure I 'll start with we 've been coming here for years... and was hesitant to leave a review but its been going down hill rapidly. I ordered my NORMAL order spold with chicken. Opened it up and was like hmmm thats different.. ate a bite it was NOT SPOLD. It was not cajun, creamy or anything close to that! Not upset accidents happen maybe the cook miss heard me so I walked up and asked if this was spold he said yes. I said hmm okay I order this often and it 's a completely different color and flavor. The cook was RUDE... YELLING that 's how we make it and walks to the back of the truck on his phone. OKAY well if that 's how you make it we won 't be back!Just a PSA I 'm not one to complain or write reviews. If I don 't like food I was raised to eat it and not complain I 've NEVER sent food back before EVER... so if I 'm checking on if this is the right order.... somethings OFF!I ended up not being unable to eat my meal as it was to spicy and a very odd flavor... On the other hand I went and ordered a wonderful delicious meal from Abu Omar (triple meat plate) which had great customer service! photo for reference

Like many Portlanders, I was extremely bummed when the original Montage closed during COVID. I have been extremely impressed with how smooth they've made the transition to carts. While I still miss the old space, I'm glad the carts carry on the Montage legacy, giving the best parts of the menu, good service and aluminum foil art a second life. The Spicy Mac is still my favorite. Highly recommend!

Normally, I really enjoy eating at Montage and have no issues. However today when I ordered my regular (an old mac with chicken) it had so much black pepper in it that I could immediately tell just by looking at it that something was off. I took a bite and the black pepper flavor was so strong I couldn’t finish the meal. There seriously had to be at least three tablespoons of black pepper in my pasta, if not more.I didn’t want to write a negative review because like I said, normally the food here is great, but when I tried to contact the cart about my issue with my order I received no response and no resolution. I would have really appreciated it if I could have eaten my lunch.

I had an unfortunate experience with the packaging of my meal as the box was faulty, causing it to spill all over the table. When I brought this issue to their attention, they provided me with a replacement box to put the remaining food in put the remaining food in , which I found to be a bit ridiculous as half the food was spread out on the table I've visited food truck pods across the country, and I must say this was my most unsatisfactory experiences. The quality of the food was below par, and what made matters worse was the staff's rudeness and their apparent lack of concern. It's truly disappointing and not worth your time. evidence in the pictures below.
