Coal Miner's Diner - Jennerstown

This is an excellent restaurant for several reasons: 1) the quality of the food, 2) the reasonable prices, 3) the cozy atmosphere, 4) the attentive service, and 5) the homemade desserts made by the owner that are absolutely fantastic. They do allow outside wine and will provide corking services and glasses at no additional charge, after you sign a disclaimer. Just a note: parking can be a bit limited during busy hours as the restaurant grows in popularity!

Poor service: It was not a busy time of day, not many patrons. We sat there and wasn't even looked at or acknowledged for way too many minutes. Food is over-priced for the low quality. $14.95 for a grilled chicken salad that was made with iceberg lettuce, 4 tomato wedges, onion, one hard boiled egg and low quality cheese. And beware of the uneven surface of the front parking lot. My 20 year old IDD daughter fell due to the elevation difference from the millings you park your car on and the asphalt that you drive your car to pull into the parking spots. $44.00 for water, a sad grilled chicken salad, highly processed chicken strips of poorer quality than the chicken strips of a school lunch program, a few fries and dessert.

Great place we really enjoy coming here to eat. I had real roasted turkey and biscuits with real mashed potatoes and it was excellent. My husband had a chicken cordon blue sandwich and was uniquely made with a nice slice of country ham, chicken and cheese and absolutely delicious.

The various gob cakes are absolutely delicious! I really wish they had a cookbook for these! As for vegetarian options, they offer salads.

This diner is excellent! The food was amazing! We were in the area for a race at Jennerstown Speedway and decided to stop by. It was surprisingly busy when we arrived just before the next shift started, and the servers seemed to be quite stretched. Despite that, they did a remarkable job taking care of all the customers!
