Contribuiți la feedbackKid in a confectionery store??? Why, yes! What an amazing small shop with windows to observe the candy production process!...and samples of freshly made candy! We didn't know where to start to buy anything! Love the nostalgic room with utems from the past. The staff was friendly and helpful!
Schimpff's has a great old timey atmosphere with the lunch counter and demonstrations on how they make cinnamon red hots.
I have been a frequent customer of Schimpffs since the 1980's. I love the pecan clusters and the fruit mix jelly candies. It is such a charming place, I love to browse and read the history. The owners are so nice and friendly.I once asked my son for some of the pecan clusters for my Christmas stocking instead of the usual gift card. He bought a lb. box. I enjoyed every bite.
It was nostalgic! You could really feel the history here with all of the wall deco. Santa was a big part of it too. The museum was nice, and watching the candy makers was really amazing! My friend Patty and I got to sample warm Red Hots! Fantastic! The chicken salad was good too. I can't wait to return!
First time in Louisville and first time to this historic candy/chocolate amazing! It was a great place to pick up some treats to take home as gifts! Old time favorites and local specialties. The store is an amazing experience in its own right. You can see how candy is made....a lot of historical pieces and the shop itself is like a museum. It's a chocolate candy lovers going through memory lane. The servers were amazing to treat and they offer samples of their core product cinnamon red hots. We didn't want to buy them, but after tasting...YUM! We only bought a very large package for us. You have a lot of literature about the history of the shop, which for people who are first visitors are something extraordinary. We didn't have enough time, but should we ever be back in town, it would be very nostalgic to sit and have an old milkshake and some diner food. In addition to the Red Hots, we also recommend peanut butter melts, caramel hearts and a few Modjeska......
