El Paraiso - Jefferson City

Lots of Mexican restaurants to choose from in the Lakeway area. Truthfully, they all look and taste the same. What separates good from mediocre lies in the quality of service. During a lunch outing to El Paraiso, their service proved to be the game changer. Our meals were good but nothing to brag about.

The food is fairly good even though it's not as authentic Mexican as they claim. It's more Tex-Mex, even according to the management service is fast at lunchtime, which is very helpful to those of us who work.

This is by far my favorite place to eat at!!! I've been there so many times and have never been disappointed. The food is amazing, the service is great they are so sweet, and it's very roomy and the art on the wall is absolutely beautiful. I can't stress this enough if you want Mexican and you're if Jefferson go there. You have to get the cheese dip for your chips though or the experience isn't as good lol.

My husband and I are new to the area and want to try every restaurant to find a new favorite. Unfortunately, this place doesn't make the cut. I ordered the Steak con Arroz, and it was super salty that I couldn't eat it. (I took it home to mix with my own Mexican rice that I made. But the kicker was the bad attitude we received from our server Herson, when my husband made a special request for his food. He made us feel like it was too much trouble. I asked for more chips and salsa, and again the attitude. I wanted to order a side of beans, but didn't want to be a bother to him anymore, so we got the check and made a quick exit. My husband didn't even finish his food. We get it. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but we're not willing to give this place another try. I give 2 stars because the chips and salsa were pretty good, and it was a convenient location, next to other stores we needed to visit.

Ok a Mexican pizza is truly a made-up Taco Bell thing. I go to this place, and see a shrimp Mexican pizza on the menu. I'm thinking this is going to be some up-scaled Taco-Bell style stuff. Well I'm wrong, it's basically two tortillas with a lot of stuff layered on it. It's like if you could fold the tortillas over, it would be a soft shrimp taco. The leftovers that remained looked like a backed up sewer line. A clean place with a friendly staff.
