El Oriental De Cuba - Jamaica Plain

I've never been to Cuba but this certainly felt like what experiencing an authentic Cuban cuisine feels like. Mom and pop vibes, salsa music playing, Cuban art and photos and clothing for sale on every wall. It's also a full service restaurant! Everything was affordable ranging in the $10 to $25 range for a meal. They also serve breakfast all day!I ordered the fried pork chops, yellow rice and side of salad. The pork chops were on point, the yellow rice was solid but nothing to write home around, the salad didn't come with dressing. They have oil and vinegar on every table which isn't my style. Over my meal was good and I'd definitely come back again although I wasn't blown away.

Bread for the Cuban sandwich is terrible. Not a real baguette, but a soft bread that disturbs the good ingredients inside. It'll be soggy. I wanted to eat stuffed Yuca with meat. fried Yuca was given with onions. The flesh is not bad. Finally, a very mediocre restaurant. Could be very good with a little effort.

We had all delicious meals in this sweet little place. Would come back. We had a great experience here

This place was a review pick. It was a great choice. The facility was there for a while. Images from local officials and Boston sports heroes are on the wall. The food is why the restaurant has been there for a while. It is worth a visit when in Waltham, MA area.

I love this restaurant! This was my second time visiting, the last being 2015, and it is still just as delicious as I remember. The Cuban sandwich is spectacular but it’s also worth exploring all the other dishes on the menu. This time we ordered empanadas and chicken soup, too. All great options 10/10 would recommend. It is a wonderful place for lunch where you know you’ll leave full and not have paid an exorbitant amount of money.
