Ocean Bay Seafood - Jacksonville

On a weekend getaway with my boyfriend, we were trying to pick a seafood place because that was my one request if we went to the shore. We got the huge platter for 2, which was more seafood than I've ever eaten in one sitting. The person serving us was the absolute kindest, talking us up, showing my boyfriend how to put on a lobster bib (he thought it had sleeves). She insisted we finish our meal since it was closing time and there was no one else left, but we wanted to make sure she could finish out the night at a regular hour. So took half our meal to go and finished in our hotel room. Went above and beyond with the hospitality and really making us feel like we were welcome to be there. Never mind the food was absolutely delicious! A night to remember for us.

I went tonight to Ocean Bay and ordered the fire roasted scallops. I don?t believe they were real scallops. I?m not sure what they were but they tasted nothing like scallops. Even the texture was not like scallops. They had absolutely no flavor. A huge disappointment. I wondered later if I was going to get sick, since I was unsure what I had eaten as a substitute for scallops. I have gotten the family pack from there a couple of times, and would order it again but would not under any circumstances, order scallops??? from their menu again. I was also surprised to see that their sanitation rating was a 90.

The Po Boys here are delicious! The restaurant is clean, the servers are friendly, and they offer free Wi-Fi. In the photo, you can see the catfish po boy, lobster ravioli, and a fried oyster plate. Highly recommended!

We were able to place our order quickly, which was a positive aspect. We ordered mozzarella sticks, but the marinara sauce came straight from the refrigerator—it was ice cold. When our main dishes arrived, they were only lukewarm. The Shrimp Alfredo had an excessive amount of sauce; I could have made two additional servings from what was on my plate. To top it off, the bread was burnt. While my husband received refills on his drink twice—once with a casual offer and the second time after he was specifically asked—I was neglected. Not once did she check if I wanted a refill of water. By the time she returned to our table, I had finished my ice, yet she still didn’t inquire about my water. My husband began to ask her for a refill, but I suggested he let it go since we were about to leave anyway. Unfortunately, what two months ago seemed like a fantastic new dining spot is now quickly becoming a last resort when it comes to dining options.

We visited this restaurant on a Friday night and found it to be pleasantly uncrowded, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The menu offered a great variety of options. The food was outstanding! Everything was cooked perfectly, the seafood was scrumptious, and the portions were quite generous. Dinner prices started at $10 and went up from there. I didn't have high expectations going in, but I was truly impressed! You have the option to dine in with table service or order takeout.
