I kind of expected High Tide to be a Moes or a Chipotle with mediocre Mexican American food and mediocre service, but I was VERY wrong. I found out the first time I ate there that High Tide isn’t comparable at all to those other places. The food is all fresh and delicious, and the service is always very good. I go back regularly for lunch and dinner and its hard to pick my favorite dish. The nachos are a pile of deliciousness with queso, fresh salsa, jalapenos, beans and sour cream and the grilled steak is killer. The el jefe burrito combines the steak with breaded shrimp and a horseradish-y sauce that is very good. High Tide Burrito Co. is a must-try.
This place is a pretty average taco and burrito place. It's in San Marco which is convenient to down town and the riverside area. The burritos and tacos just seemed average though. They were a decent size. The best time to go is after 2pm when the prices drop and tacos are just $2! The place is small but nice and clean. It's fairly new to the area. It's been open maybe 6 months or so. Parking is hard because of this area so you either have to find street parking or park around the back.
