The Shim Sham Room - Jacksonville Beach

I visited this establishment last night, and it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. The bouncers were incredibly rude and aggressive, to the extent of choking a man and roughly pushing women down the stairs for no apparent reason. There are many ways to handle situations professionally, and resorting to violence is definitely not one of them. The bouncers at this bar need serious training. Furthermore, we felt discriminated against as soon as we arrived. The club itself was terrible, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I will not be returning. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

This bar has the potential to be great, but unfortunately, the staff ruined the experience for me. Johnny Hardo, the bouncer with curly hair and a baseball cap, seemed overly eager to snatch IDs from patrons, even when they were completely legitimate. He also denied access to those using a State Department Passport Card, which is valid for TSA but apparently not deemed acceptable by him. It feels like he takes pleasure in the authority that comes with his job. There are definitely better options around Jacksonville Beach.

Went there for happy hour and the margaritas were delightful. They had some orange and blackberry margaritas along with traditional ones. The bartender was super nice and friendly. The bathrooms were a bit rough, but still a solid place in JaxBeach.

This restaurant is not worth your time. If you belong to a minority community (e.g., foreign or black), you'll likely find that they will make excuses not to let you in and will create an uncomfortable atmosphere for you, while they freely allow in the typical beachgoers in sandals. A quick glance at other reviews reveals a troubling pattern that I initially thought was unique to my experience.

*visiting from nyc: Came on a weekday night, so just concerned about good cocktails and enjoyable vibe. Drinks were delicious, if you're looking for well curacated cocktail this is the spot. Bar food was good for a snack to pick on. Not sure what theweekend vibe is like, but if a great cocktail is you're looking for I would highly recommend
