Roy's - Jacksonville Beach

Amazing restaurant! We were fortunate to have Violet as our server. She is exceptional at her job, capturing our attention right from the start and guiding us to one of the best meals we've ever had. Everything was flawless, and I'm convinced that any dish you choose will be incredibly delicious and melt in your mouth.

I also tried the lobster bisque, which had a rich, buttery flavor. It struck the perfect balance, neither too thick nor too thin, and it was served with an ample amount of lobster. The croutons on top added an extra layer of flavor to the dish. For my main course, I ordered the salmon, cooked well done. It came with red potatoes, sautéed spinach, and asparagus. The salmon was excellent—not dry at all, with no unpleasant aftertaste. It was grilled and well-seasoned. However, the spinach and asparagus could have been sautéed a bit longer; they were lightly cooked, making it somewhat difficult to eat the spinach with a fork, and the asparagus was a bit crunchy, which made it challenging to manage as well. Overall, the food was really enjoyable, and the bill was reasonable. The staff were friendly. I sat at the bar, and even there, the service was attentive, pleasant, and courteous. The atmosphere was quiet and positive; you could hear some laughter, but it was never disruptive to the meal. The seating was well-spaced, providing plenty of room so it never felt crowded. I appreciated how the design and setup promote comfort during this pandemic, allowing for social distancing even at the bar.

I participated in a semi-private cooking class, and I found the price to be somewhat higher than I expected, especially in comparison to other formal dining establishments. I was disappointed that the cooking experience wasn't interactive or hands-on. The pace was quite fast, making it challenging to see what was happening from a distance. Despite this, I would consider returning to explore their other events, as I really enjoy their food—especially if you're a seafood enthusiast.

Awesome! Our waitress was amazing, the food flawless, and the atmosphere was relaxing. So glad we decided to bring the boys (8 and 12) here for a Friday dinner. The four fish sampler was great and the chocolate lava cake-wow!

Food was fantastic, waitress told us that a party of 36 got their orders in just before us and that our wait would be exceptionally long. After maybe 25 minutes our food was here. Even with that average wait they still took a drink and dessert off of our bill. Very good service and even better food. I have had mediocre experiences at Roy's in the last 3-4 years, glad to see their quality is back up at the top.
