Mayflower Cafe - Jackson

This is one of the best seafood places in Jackson, MS. I stopped here on my way from Little Rock to Baton Rouge, and the food is truly authentic Southern-style cuisine. I ordered the redfish with soft shell crabs on top, and it was excellent—definitely the best Southern-style seafood I've ever had. There are parking spaces available on the street, and the interior is simply decorated. It seems this restaurant is very popular with the locals. If I’m ever in Jackson again, I would definitely return to this spot, although the prices might be on the higher side.

I've never been disappointed at The Mayflower. I've been dining there for over 40 years. Their specialty is grilled fish and steaks. While I respect the one-star review shared here, it’s important to note that club sandwiches and French fries are not what made this place famous.

We had an amazing meal at this charming old restaurant. Sherie provided excellent service, making our experience even better. Established in 1935, the place has a lot of character! We particularly enjoyed the side dish, which was enhanced by the delicious comeback sauce. We shared the red fish, and it was fantastic!

A simple, pleasant and tasteless atmosphere with a seafood-based menu. I had a silo in steak and my son had blackened cats that we both enjoyed. the brotpudding desert was great and delicious.

Stopped here while driving through Jackson. I called ahead and spoke to Frank, he is the primary reason I am giving this place a high review. Food was good, but Frank's customer service was very much appreciated. He really went out of his way going above and beyond to make sure we had a place to park and a table to eat with our young family of 5.
