Alex's Pizza Deli - Jackson Heights

I love this place but the short Hispanic lady who works there is very very rude and disrespectful. She comes early in the morning and gives me such a hard time every day when I see her. She purposely ignores me and doesn’t want to serve me. I ask her for coffee she said wait ten minutes and then she serves coffee in front of me to other people. To top it off every time I go inside she directly says kitchen is closed when I say good morning that’s her response.

This is a busy little deli/diner/pizzeria. Their food is very good and they have tables to sit in and eat. A little hidden place. The owners and workers are pleasant. It's clean and I really don't know anywhere else over where you can get a decent hot homemade meal. The bar next door is no good , and always full of trouble. The Chinese place is ok but Alex's is the spot. They now sell beer and you can stop in and have an ice cold beer at a low price. I recommend it!

I really enjoy this restaurant, but I’ve had a consistently negative experience with one employee. The short Hispanic woman who works there tends to be quite rude and disrespectful. Whenever I see her in the morning, she makes my visits uncomfortable. She often ignores me when I ask for coffee, telling me to wait ten minutes, only to serve others around me right away. Additionally, whenever I greet her with a "good morning," her automatic response is to say that the kitchen is closed. This behavior is really disappointing.

The garlic knots were extremely stale; they were practically impossible to bite into. I’m serious! The pizza was also underwhelming and seemed like leftover slices, which was to be expected. I wonder if they always pile their pizza like that. Overall, this will be my last visit to a Spanish pizza shop. I think I'll stick to Italian places instead. I ended up spending $2.50 for a leftover cheese slice and $0.50 for two inedible garlic knots, not to mention the disappointing overall experience of mediocre food and service.
