Tyke Kafe - Izmir

I love everything about Tyke. The people working here are great, there is a gender-neutral relaxation room, solidarity stands with prisoners, artists and sex workers. The place offers an overall summary of local movements and struggles. We had fallen köftesi together with two falafels, they were delicious and quite affordable. I don't think this place is treated like a cafe by the locals, and for good reason: sometimes they have only one position from an already tiny menu, and even this position has only one half of the usual ingredients. One day you can order a salad and get an amazing dish full of taste with hummus and falafel on the side, while the next time it is just leaves, carrots and a few slices of marinated cucumber. I think it is more of a study / drinking tea / discuss politics type of space. Give him a bonus star for all symbols and posters they display and zines they offer. Very cozy place, almost at home. You don't have many options, but the Falafel was really good. I definitely go back!
