L Manze - Islington

This is a classic Pie and Mash restaurant that transports you back in time. The food is delicious and the decor is traditional. Absolutely delightful.

I visited L Manze based on a friend's recommendation for an authentic Cockney experience, but I found it to be outdated and unexciting. The food was bland and flavorless, making school dinners seem more appealing in comparison. While it may be a tradition in London, there are plenty of other exciting dining options available, so I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to visit this restaurant.

The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. It is definitely worth visiting a few more times before it shuts down. It's sad to see the traditional London dish of pie and mash becoming increasingly rare due to expensive property prices and business rates.

This restaurant is a bargain and a real traditional pie and mash shop. The decor is classic and staff friendly and the pie are freshly made.

It was good to fund a pie and mash shop for lunch as we were passing through Chapel Market while walking between 2 sections of the Regent's Canal. Good pies, good mash, good liquor, plus chilli vinegar if you ask for it. Can't fault it.
