Fox Anchor - Islington

Charming old pub with a nice dining room! The service was excellent, thanks to the lovely waitress. It was disappointing that they were missing some key ingredients for the Fox's Breakfasts. It's surprising to run out of black pudding in a meat market when it's a staple of the breakfast menu.

This pub is still fantastic with a great choice of wine and ale. The setting is traditional and they offer heritage English dishes. They also have private rooms available. Although it may not be as authentic as before Malmaison took over, it is still a great place to grab a drink and a wonderful place to stay if you're lucky enough to get a reservation.

Covid hasn't been here for three years. The food is still as good as ever. So nice to sit and eat in a place with such history. Old-fashioned wooden clothes stand.

This beautiful pub, located in the same name hotel, has a traditional, dark wood, cozy feeling. The bar, as you enter first, is narrow with limited seats, but there is an additional space on the back and a dining room on top. The pub has a Smithfield Market License and is therefore open and can operate alcohol, hotel dwellers and non-residents from 7 a.m. They also offer an excellent Full English Breakfast. Friendly staff, wide selection of genuine Ales craft beer; this is a fabulous pub.

A great hunt right in front of Smithfield. You make an incredible Cityboy breakfast and everything in between. We stopped on Sunday noon and it was quiet. During the week, the outside offers a beautiful place to drink in the summer. We used to be the night and they also have well furnished rooms. It's not like a stay at Rookery nearby, but it's a completely different experience and they don't try to be the same. Definitely check the Fox for fun times, anytime!
